Everywhere I go I hear about real estate, either if its on tv or in conversation at a resturant. The media is always stating what the real estate market should be and what it isn't! I work in the market everyday and every market is different in all of the nation. Here in Virginia, the metropolitan area of DC, the stats show a slow increase of listings coming back on the market.
Right now, I believe the market is going to gradually increase into a seller market by 2013-2014. If there are buyers out there, now is the time to get off the fence this year! With listing prices increasingly moving up, we can anticipate better market conditions for sellers to sell their home.
For buyers, I wouldn't wait much longer into Feburary, because buyer competition can become increasingly difficult later in the spring/summer market. Rates are still amazing for buyers, if you want the best price now is the time. I just can't believe how long rates have stayed so consistent.
As an experienced real estate agent with 10 years in the business. This has been trying times for buyers, sellers, and homeowners. But we are getting closer to achieving balance. Because every 1 house sold creates at least 2 jobs. In speaking locally every 1,000 homes sold creates 500 jobs. Think about it, we're all depending on the real estate market, even if we know it or not.
